8 Easy Side Hustles To Make Extra Money
Mystery Shop
Do you love shopping? Well, companies will pay you to do just that!
Mystery shopping is where companies will pay you to be a customer in their store and provide feedback. This is an especially great side-hustle to do during the holidays – especially Christmas – because that’s the best time to shop. Some companies will ask you to take surveys, upload product photos, give reviews or submit reports. What a fun way to get out of the house and make some extra money!
Take Surveys
This is probably the easiest side-hustle out there and if you take enough surveys, you can make a decent profit. About a year ago I would use multiple survey sites and was able to make extra money on a daily basis. Somedays I made $5 to $10 and other days I was able to make even more. A lot of survey sites also give you money for referring a friend.
House/pet sit
People will pay you to watch over their house and pets while they are on vacation. This can be an easy way to make some extra cash. You could even house sit while working a full-time job as long as the location is close to work. You just put an ad up on Facebook or Craigslist with your rates and times of availability.
My absolute favorite service is Rover, the #1 pet sitting and dog walking app on the market. Rover connects you to a large network of pet owners in need of dog walking or pet sitting services. What’s nice about Rover is that you get to choose your own schedule and rates. They also offer complimentary insurance, 24/7 vet consultations and 24/7 support for all who book through their site.
If you love animals and want to start pet sitting or dog walking, sign up for Rover here and receive a $25 credit for your first booking.
Rent out your space
You can make a good profit through Air bnb by renting out your apartment or house. If you have a vacant house or travel often than this is a great option for you. How much money you earn depends on how much you charge and the length of time a customer stays, but it’s a great way to earn passive income.
Join a focus group
Focus groups are another great way to make some extra cash. The pay is decent, ranging from $10 to several hundred or more depending on the study. If you are in a pinch and need cash fast then this is a good side-gig for you.
Flip items
There are people who earn thousands of dollars a month by flipping items, whether its clothes, household furniture, cars, websites – you name it. My boyfriend makes decent money by buying cars, fixing them up and then selling them (it’s a fun hobby for him). For me personally, I like to buy old furniture at thrift stores, repaint them and then sell them through Facebook marketplace. What’s cool about flipping items is that there is a niche for everyone, it’s a lot of fun and you can make a nice profit if you keep up with it.
Test websites
This is one of the most unique and easiest ways to make some extra cash. How cool would it be to get paid to try out a new website and provide feedback? With website testing, you can get paid up to $10 for each you participate in. Just be aware of scams, though.
Drive your car
This is one of my favorite ways to make money quickly. You can make a good income every month driving for Uber, especially during peak times. All you need is a phone, the Uber app and a car. With people constantly needing a driver to go places, this job is constantly in demand. If you are looking for an easy and flexible side-gig that earns you money quickly then this is perfect for you.

Haylie xx
Nice list Haylie. I have another to consider that’s almost as easy to do as going for a walk. Provide a litter cleanup service on foot using simple hand tools outside commercial properties. I started doing this as a side hustle in 1981 and grew this niche service into a profitable 6 figure annual income. I share my success in my book, Cleanlots.
